Deborah EllingtonArt has been the primary focus of my entire academic and professional career. After earning a Bachelor of Arts from Albion College, I went on to achieve a Masters of Arts degree from the University of Michigan and a Masters of Fine Arts from Sam Houston State. I currently serve as Dean of the Lone Star College Montgomery Art Department. I have enjoyed several gallery affiliations, and my work has shown in dozens of juried shows and both private and public exhibitions.

I began to explore glass because of its ability to exhibit depth through layers and light. I come to glass from a different direction than stained glass. It has been a journey of several years. I sought out Stan Price, a noted glass artist, to teach me how to use Reuschestainer paints. I began with black and white images. As a painter, I love the feel of a paintbrush as I pull and push the paint, while establishing the image. Through several experiments I finally have the painting medium that allows me to accomplish this.
